Paco Rabanne Spring Summer 2018 Ready To Wear Show In Paris

Paco Rabanne is Spanish fashion designer born on February 18, 1934 in the Basque Town of the Pasajes, Gipuzkoa province. He grew up in Spain and fled Spain for France with his family during the Spanish Civil War 1939.

His education was originally in architecture but he started his fashion career by creating jewelry for Givenchy Dior and Balenciaga. Soon he became famous and founded his own label in 1966, he used unconventional material as metal, plastic and paper for his Metal Couture and outlandish and flamboyant designs.

In 1968, he collaborated with fragrance company Puig and his first perfume the now legendary women’s scent Calandre, introduced in 1969. A series of innovative fragrances in distinctive bottles for both men and women have followed.

Paco Rabanne is known for his green costume worn by Jane Fonda 1968 science-fiction film, Barbarella. Paco Rabanne revolutionized fashion with his mini-skirted metallic dresses often one-offs, handmade, he pioneered the recycling of material in clothing, creating show-stopping outfits out of hammered metal, aluminum jersey,

knitted fur, fiberglass, ephemeral creations and fluorescent leather too. He created a storm in the fashion world by presenting his debut collection, contained 12 unwearable dresses in contemporary materials.
